Waiting for Baby

One of my favorite things about being a photographer is that I'm able to be a part of some amazing events in the lives of others (even if it's just for a short period of time). The next time I see this beautiful couple ... they will be a family - and that is truly amazing!

Week 8 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 50 - We helped to celebrate the 29th Annual Gaithersburg Street Festival. What a great afternoon - beautiful weather and fun for all

Day 51 - A walk through my neighborhood - with my little one - led me to today's photograph.

Day 52 - If you live in my neck of the woods you know this horrible bug well - it's a Japanese Stink Bug. They fly, stink and you can't kill them no matter how hard you try.

Day 53 - During my run to Costco I found today's photograph in the parking garage.

Day 54 -The Harvest Moon of 2010

Day 55 - My wild flowers are still blooming - that $1.00 box of seeds was well worth it.

Day 56 - Gas a & toll to the beach = $45.00. Lunch & sunscreen = $19.00, Seeing the joy on your children's faces while playing in the waves = Priceless!

We took the girls to Brookside Gardens to see the Wings of Fancy. In addition to seeing the beautiful butterflies - we walked the gardens which is always good for a few great photographs.

Photographers deal in things
which are continually vanishing
and when they have vanished
there is no contrivance on earth
which can make them come back again.

It was a fantastic Labor Day Weekend in Ocean City, Maryland (thankfully Hurricane Earl missed our eastern shore line).

Week 7 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 43 - Our rainy Sunday called for popcorn and a movie.

Day 44 - When leaving an appointment - I saw the afternoon sky reflected in the building and knew that I had to photograph it.

Day 45 - After visiting this beautiful American Bald Eagle at our local nature center - I fulfilled my American duty and voted in the Maryland Primary Elections.

Day 46 - While enjoying my morning cup of coffee - I saw this single Morning Glory climbing up my deck. Not only is this my favorite color but this was also my favorite flower as a child.

Day 47 - In between rain showers - I photograph the first red leaves on my Japanese Maple ... Fall is on its way.

Day 48 - This little elephant greeted me this morning while scrapbooking with friends. I knew at once that this was my photograph ... as a teen I had a pair of wooden elephant earrings. I loved them and wore them all the time.

Day 49 - We visited 'Wings of Fancy' which ends tomorrow for the season. I'm working on a project with a dear friend and butterflies are one of the subjects that I've been asked to photograph.

Sweet Anticipation

I very much enjoyed this session ... there is nothing sweeter or more beautiful than the anticipation of a child.

Imperfections

Here is a sample of what I'm able to do editing wise - I've gotten pretty good at removing small imperfections. I've got more to learn but give me a little more time and I'll be able to tackle the runny nose.

World Wide Photo Walk Slideshow 2010

I participated in the World Wide Photo Walk on July 24, 2010 in Hyannis Port, MA. I posted a few of the photos from the walk previously - here is the entire collection together. This was a fantastic experience for me - I plan on being a part of WWPW 2011.

Week 6 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 36 - Today we caught a Shorebirds' game - which was fun as usual. When Annabelle was about 2 yrs old she screamed - BIG RED CHICKEN (from Dora the Explorer) the first time she saw 'Sherman the Shorebird ' - we still laugh thinking about that day.

Day 37 - Wrapping up the Labor Day Weekend ...our morning started with a little crabbing (catch and release).

Day 38 - The art work of our neighbors' children ... beautiful!

Day 39 -I've been thinking how I would photograph these lovely lavendar flowers ...today, my 2 yr old solved my problem.

Day 40 -My hubby played hookie for a couple of hours from work and took us for a little drive (there was no school today) - we stopped at a local winery for a little sampling. I took this photo on the sly ... I set my camera on the counter and just clicked, not too bad for never looking through the viewfinder.

Day 41 - We had an unexpected play date today after school - when I saw these Silly Bandz I knew that I had my photograph.

Day 42 - In honor of 9/11/01 and for all the hearts that were broken that terrible day - I haven't forgotten.

Kane

On my recent family photo shoot ... I was amazed at how the mom handled her 3 large furry friends (quite a job for most but she was definitely a pro). Kane the Great Dane captured my attention - what an magnificent creature!

A Fabulous Family Plus ....

What a fantastic family! I'm finding that each family I photograph is special in its own way - and this family was no exception. Not only did I photograph mom, dad & 3 amazing kids but the family's 3 furry members were also a part of the session.

Little Sister

Little sister wanted to show off her school clothes since big sister did. However, this photo session didn't last long - she quickly got bored and decided to stop after the second outfit. I'm not complaining though - she normally just runs away from the camera all together.

Week 5 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

DAY 29 - It was a beautiful day for a walk in the woods ...

Day 30 - The first day of school ...

Day 31 - I complete my first full month (only 11 more to go). I can always find something that catches my attention in my own backyard.

Day 32 - I picked up my husband at this office this afternoon and saw this stack of newpapers on the sidewalk ... it reminded me of my first job as a newpaper delivery girl.

Day 33 - I wasn't in the mood to cook lunch after a morning of scrapbooking with friends ... so I pulled into Taco Bell on the way home. I'm normally not a fast food person but sometimes it's just what you have to do.

Day 34 - Yesterday at the bus stop - my girls had this made for them by their little friend. I fell in love with its simple beauty and knew what my photograph for today was going to be.

Day 35 - It was a beautiful day in OC, Maryland and we witnessed an amazing ocean rescue (I've cropped my photo to mask my subjects faces)! I just want to say - OC lifeguard you ROCK - thank you for keeping us safe!

Birthday Girl

My birthday girl was very excited this year about all the new clothes she got for her birthday (which is a convenient time for me since it's right before school starts). She actually asked me if I would take pictures of her in them - of course I was delighted to do so! A second batch of photos will follow soon.
