Week 13 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 85 - Our pumpkin picks from the pumpkin patch. Day

Day 86 - It was a great evening of carving - messy but fun!

Day 87 - After school today my girls were collecting "bacon" ... I love their imaginations.

Day 88 - Yesterday - at the elementary school the kids each decorated a hand print with their names on it. Today - myself along with 2 other volunteers assembled this 'Drug Free Tree.'

Day 89 - I spent my evening celebrating the up coming arrival of a beautiful new baby. I was worried that I wouldn't finish this baby blanket in time for the shower but I completed it just this morning.

Day 90 - When I noticed all the grass in the cracks in the concrete I said, "Where there's a will, there's a way around anything" - Life holds on. - Beth Nielson Chapman

Day 91 - It was a beautiful day for a hike ... I love these pink trees.

Witchy-Poo and Spiderman

What child doesn't like to dress up for Halloween? Not only did this pretty little witch and handsome Spiderman cooperate for a family photo session -- they put on their costumes and posed for even more pictures! At 3 and 5 years old they both did a fantastic job.

The 'H' Family

What a fun session with a fantastic family - we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! After only a few minutes with this gang and I felt like I had known them forever - it was definitely a good day.

The 'B' Family

This was a mini photography session - this beautiful family just wanted a picture for holiday cards (this one was my favorite of our time together). I had to giggle - I asked big brother if he liked being a big brother and his response was "Yes, but it's a lot of work."

Week 12 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 78 - I love that my girls like creating with sidewalk chalk. It's cheap and it washes away easily ... it's mother approved.

Day 79 - For the most part - my garden is looking pretty grim these days but I still have a few wild flowers blooming ... this I thought truly magnificent.

Day 80 - I had a great time with the kids from my daughter's kindergarten class ... we went to Sharp's farm in Brookeville, MD to pick pumpkins.

Day 81 - I've tried several times to photograph the deers in the yard but I can never get close enough before they run away. Today I just pulled up beside them in my van ...

Day 82 - Most folks would be a little nervous with this giant bee thing on them. Not my Annabelle -- she loves all creatures and was delighted to have this guy hanging out on her skirt.

Day 83 - The evening sun was hitting this web and I thought - why not - tis the season!

Day 84 - At the end of a busy day ... there is nothing more beautiful than the setting sun.

Black Hill Regional Park

Black Hill Regional Park in Boyds, Maryland is another one of my families favorite places to visit. I love Mother Earth and I photograph her beauties every chance I get and Black Hill doesn't disappoint.

The National Air and Space Museum

My family loves the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near the Dulles Airport in Chantilly, Virginia. The price is right ... you only pay for parking which is $15.00 a car ( admission to the museum is free). Don't let the secret out but this museum is never as crowded as the other Smithsonian's in Washington, DC.

Week 11 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 71 - It was a great day at the Dullas National Air and Space Museum ...

Day 72 - We went apple picking with visiting friends. Long story short ... I messed up the first batch of candied apples. Before heading home this afternoon ... everyone enjoyed the long awaited weekend treat (I got it right the second time around).

Day 73 - I entered the X-Rite Seasons of Color Contest (Magenta is this weeks color) - my entry is similar to this one. It would be great to win - the prize is a ColorCheck Passport which helps ensure correct color in photographs.

Day 74 - It's a big world but today all eyes are on Chile. What a glorious day it has been ... the 33 Miners from the San Jose Mines are home.

Day 75 - It sounds like and entire tree had fallen this afternoon but it was only a small branch. Once I saw it ... I knew that I had my photo.

Day 76 - While driving down the road tons of black birds were flying into this Magnolia Tree - the scene reminded me of "The Birds" by Alfred Hitchcock. It was a little creepy - I was glad to be in the car.

Day 77 - I love farms and I pass this one all the time. So today I stopped the car and snapped off a few frames when I saw that the cows were out in the pasture.

Homestead Farm

It's always a great family outing to Homestead Farm in Poolesville, MD. There is so much to do - apple picking, hayrides, barnyard animals, searching for that perfect pumpkin and best of all tired kids at the end of the day.

Week 10 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 64 - Attending the MD Renaissance Festival was once a tradition of ours - but it's not the easiest place to push a stroller around. Today was our first visit in many years - the tradition is now back on - it was a great day!

Day 65 - One of my favorite facebook pages is Adobe Photoshop and today is self-portrait using a mirror - thanks for the idea Lightroom.

Day 66 - I photographed this stack of hay back in August (thankfully no grasshoppers this time around) and just the other day my husband was saying that the stack was going to fall ...

Day 67 - A goose, a snail, a cat and a hawk ... that's what my girls saw in today's clouds.

Day 68 - I was just thinking that it was time to get rid of our very weathered pinwheels ... but blowing in the wind they are still quite beautiful.

Day 69 - You never know what a day will bring - today it was a little bird in the house - who is now safely back outside.

Day 70 - This little lady is not one of my own but the next best thing. She's tiny but don't let that fool you - she's quite a dare devil.

Maryland Renaissance Festival

Before starting my family- attending the Renaissance Festival was a yearly tradition. I even worked the festival one year as a Sign Language Interpreter - which I enjoyed tremendously. Once the girls started coming along, attending the festival became quite a challenge ... it's not stroller friendly (that's my opinion anyways). This year - since all 3 of our girls are now completely mobile - we took a chance at the festival. It's was fantastic and a photographer's dream at that (well, at least mine). Spectacular faces, good music and food, wonderful entertainment .... I loved it all!

Harvest Festival

This past Saturday we attended the annual Harvest Festival at the Agricultural History Farm Park - it's one of our favorite family traditions. It's always a fantastic day and the price is right - $10.00 per car.

Baby A

This little one gave the photo session her all but at only 3 months old that wasn't very long. When we went to do the family shots she was already wiped out ...

Sleepy Girl

This sweet little girl didn't last long in my recent photo session but that's to be expected since she's only 3 months old. I love that she is a total "Daddy's Girl" and I also love that the family are Terp fans!

Week 9 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 57 - This little box turtle was taking a sun bath in the middle of the road - after moving him out of harms way - out came my camera!

Day 58 - Just seconds after I took this photo there was a gust of wind and all of the rain drops were gone ... always seize the day!

Day 59 - The curling bark on my Weeping Cherry Tree caught my attention this afternoon.

Day 60 - I'm working on a project with a good friend and you guessed it - she needs apples.

Day 61 - The curbs at the bus stop were finally replaced and the area is lined with caution cones. Thanks to all the rain I found my picture ... I love the reflection in the puddle.

Day 62 - Mowing our lawn is a big job ... it takes my husband close to 2 hours to get it done. With all the rain we just had - I'm sure that he'll be mowing the lawn again real soon.

Day 63 - I LOVE the colors in this bag of beautiful bows from the Harvest Festival. I took a ton of photos and today especially - was hard for me to pick just one.
