Before I finally get around to posting my December wedding photos ... I wanted to give a shout out to my dear, dear friend and partner in crime - Starr Thompson. She agreed to be flown to Colorado to photograph a wedding only if the family agreed to do the same thing for me. The wedding was extra special for Starr because it gave her an opportunity to spend a little time with sister's beautiful family (I also enjoyed spending time with the Charlesworth's -- it had been too many years since I had seen them). Knowing that most photographers (me included) do not like being the center of a photograph -- I made a point of taking a few frames of my friend and her family. If you live in Northern Nevada and are in need of a photographer -- contact Starr at http://starrsphotography.blogspot.com/ - tell her that Carey sent you and she'll do an amazing job for you!

Week 30 - Project 365
Day 204 - After having these bottles for several years I've decided that it's time to let them go. I had kept them because I love the color but more importantly it housed my favorite wine.
Day 205 - Happy Birthday Mr. President!
Day 206 - Old man winter isn't done with us yet ... we woke up this morning to more snow. Can any one guess this weeks theme?
Day 207 - I finished up this Elf stocking cap this morning ... I actually followed a pattern and was happy to see it turned out. Thank you Grandma Kerby for teaching me how to crochet -- I'm saving a lot of money on my photo props.
Day 208 - We had a big birthday in the house today. My husband is now 40 ... hard to believe but true.
Day 209 - Boy is it windy today here in Maryland. This recycling bin was at the bottom of the driveway .... and I found it at the top!
Day 210 - The girls hit the neighborhood this afternoon with Girl Scout cookies in tow ...

Head & Shoulders
I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have such a wonderful husband. He supports me 100% in my quest to photograph anything and everything possible. A few weeks back he wanted me to take some head and shoulder shots of him (not the most exciting type of photography but necessary in the business world). Since he turned the big 4-0 today ... I thought I would share his photos. Happy birthday Darrell -- I love you!

Week 29 - Project 365
Day 197 - Monkey bread is a family favorite that I only make on special occasions. Today, I made it in honor of my nephew's 6th birthday.
Day 198 - Love is what makes this life worth living ...
Day 199 - This cabbage leaf is part of the Valentine's Day bouquet from my husband. I thought the leaf both unusual and beautiful.
Day 200 - Guess what I've got? With the help of my husband - I pick up Girl Scout cookies for 2 troops today... I've got 1400 boxes of cookies sitting in my kids playroom.
Day 201 - I love the simplicity of a single white rose.
Day 202 - Remember I joined a community Project 365 page at the beginning of the year ... well, this weeks theme is monochromatic (basically one color). So - I did a low key (black on black) photo of my digital friend.
Day 203 - Who doesn't like Bob Hope? I came across this today while touring the Library of Congress.

Water House Special Park
It's amazing to live in an area that is so rich in history. Montgomery County Recreation Department has so much to offer with much of it being free. A few weeks ago we visited Water House Special Park in Germantown, MD. I'm looking forward to touring the main house and exploring the grounds further once all the snow is completely gone.

Week 28 - Project 365
Day 190 - What a beautiful day to be outside enjoying life!
Day 191 - I've wanted to take a photo of this abandon farm for the longest time --- I would love to explore it more closely but the no trespassing signs kept me at a distances.
Day 192 - Just thought I would take a picture of $2.5 Billion! The first portion of the ICC is due to open later this year.
Day 193 - Did you know that Derwood had a drive-in movie theatre?
Day 194 - The Brookeville Angel caught my attention today ....parking in Brookeville wasn't too easy but I think it was well worth it.
Day 195 - I love living in an area that has so much history. One of these weekends the family is going to take a tour of Oakley Cabin.
Day 196 - This is for my husband - he loves this window in his parents house. The shelf is straight but the window is not!

High Key
The popularity of high key photography has grown in recent years. A beautiful high key photograph is light and airy and most importantly the image has detail. Some photographs (like the middle and end photo) lack dimension ... facial features can be 'bright' to say the least. If you are a fan of high key photography make sure that body parts don't get washed away.
