B.G.R. - Indoors

The inside of this mountain retreat was amazing and so was the soon to be Mom & Dad. I returned home that day tired (and badly needing a nap) but I was very happy with how well this session went. Baby Girl "R" (B.G.R.) will be entering this world in the next week or so and I'm truly looking forward to meeting her and seeing her lovely parents again.

B.G.R. - Outdoors

There is nothing sweeter than a couple expecting their first child. I met these beautiful parents-to-be a few weeks back and liked them instantly. It didn't take me long to see how much in love they are ... the glances - the giggles - the kisses - it was all priceless. I traveled to their magnificent mountain home retreat -- most of our session was indoors (tomorrows post) but we did endure the chilly (and breezy) mountain air before the afternoon rains set in.

Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens

Mount Vernon home to our first American President - George Washington is a family favorite place to visit. When you visit this historical landmark be sure to bring good walking shoes because you'll need them. Mount Vernon does charge an admission fee however, on President's Day it is open to the public free of charge!

Library of Congress

While you are visiting the U.S. Capitol schedule enough time to visit the Library of Congress as well. The kids will love walking to the Library of Congress via the under ground tunnel that connects the two buildings.

The U.S. Capitol

A few weeks back we took the kids to visit the U.S. Capitol - it is truly an amazing building that is rich in history and filled with beauty. Among my favorite statues - Abraham Lincoln, Helen Keller and Sarah Winnemucca (which was just added to fabulous collection in 2005). Tickets to visit the U.S. Capitol are free but you do need to reserve them on line prior to your visit.

Week 34 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 232 - Pretty in Pink - my little butterfly is going to turn six later this week ... we had family in town and celebrated her birthday a few days early.

Day 233 - I never know what my days inspiration is going to be (which is what makes this project so much fun) ... today the drainage ditch at the base of the driveway as the sun was setting caught my attention.

Day 234 - I was out enjoying the beautiful weather when I came across this ugly site. 8 or 9 of these cans were dumped on the side of the road .... the city dump is right down the road!

Day 235 - I just got my FREE glasses from CoastalContacts.Com. I did pay $15.00 for shipping and insurance but it was well worth it. Thank you CoastalContacts for helping to keep things in focus.

Day 236 - Olivia is taking this darling little cupcake (along with several others) to school tomorrow to celebrate her 6th birthday.

Day 237 - Today my Olivia turned 6 years old. At her request we headed up to Mt. Airy to do a little duck pin bowling.

Day 238 - It's hard to believe that our area is calling for snow tomorrow ...

Disney on Ice

It's true that we have a few Disney lovers in our house (myself included). We treated the girls to Disney on Ice - Princess Wishes a few weeks back and everyone loved the show! We didn't have the nose bleed seats but we still far from the stage ... one of these days I'm going to get that zoom lens that I've got my eye on ...
