Day 22 - I had my first newborn session of 2012 today ... the littlest mermaid was the perfect model. Not only did a get to spend my day with a precious new soul but I left my sesion having made new friends.
Day 23 - This is the house across the pond from us ... I thought it looked interest with the reflection in the ice along with the gray sky
Day 24 - While driving home this morning the trees in the distances (along with the fog) caught my attention. So I parked the car and the next thing I knew I was walking through the marsh - yuck! I don't have a great telephoto lens (I've got my eye on a couple of nice ones though) but until I can afford one this is the best I can do ...
Day 25 - My daughters drawing was choosen for the "Through Young Eyes - K-12 Cape Cod Student Exhibition." We attended the artists reception in December and of course took plenty of photos of her drawing hanging in the Cape Cod Musuem of Art .... today her prized piece finally come home.
Day 26 - I had planned on going straight home this morning and working on my huge pile laundry. However, I'll do just about anything to get out of laundry and I decided instead for a walk at Bank Street Beach ... this is a much nicer view then the laundry at home! :)
Day 27 - This is what's left of my birthday bouquet (with a Cape Cod twist)
Day 28 - We were in NewPort, RI celebrating my mother-in-law's birthday. This cliff walk as truly amazing! You can see a dark figure facing the ocean. This was a fellow photographer I past on the path ... I spotted him and knew he was part of 'the club' and had to include him in my photo. :)

Waiting for Baby J
I received a call from San Francisco in early December --- a very nice lady was looking for the perfect 'baby' gift for her sister-in-law on Cape Cod. That phone call lead to this session - which was the perfect way to start out the New Year. Mother Nature was very good to us and we had a beautiful January beach day. I truly had fun and enjoyed working with this loving couple .... I just know that they are going to make amazing parents.
*I'm in the process of "playing" around with some different editing techniques per their request on some of the photos. I love having so much creative freedom!

Project 2012 - Week 3
Day 15 - I've seen the lemon & bubble shot many times lately at 365Project.org and all of them have been fantastic. I wanted to give it a try myself but I put a Cape Cod spin on it
Day 16 - It's funny how you can still find signs of life outside despite the cold temperatures. I guess it's nature way of saying - never give up.
Day 17 - Today we had a little ice on our pond - not quite ready for ice skating yet.
I played around with a high contrast B&W ... anything to make a boring picture more interesting
Day 18 - I don't know the proper name but this beautifull green and soft type of moss grows on many of the trees here at Cape Cod. My orginial plan was to photograph just the moss until I saw the golden insides of the fallen branch.
Day 19 - Too many years ago on this day in January - I entered this world.
* I got my idea for this photo from a fellow 365er... I thought it was such a neat idea and had to try it myself.
Day 20 - I decided to order myself a birthday present and I'm excited that it finally arrived - a got a Gary Fong LightSphere Collapsible Flash Diffuser. Now, who can I test it out on?
Day 21 - It's official --- we've got snow!

Project 2012 - Week 2
Day 8 - I spent the majority of the day supervising our Girl Scout Cookies booth. When I left the store the sun was starting to set - I knew that by the time I arrived home my light would be gone so I snapped this in the store parking lot.
Day 9 - My 16 year old brother didn't take the time to put on his seat belt and because of that he lost his life 22 years ago today. A seat belt may need to save your life one day - take the time to click it.
Day 10 - I had planned on having this in color since I spent about 20 minutes playing around with my color gels ... I changed my mind once I saw it in B&W.
Day 11 - 2 of my 5 people I would have loved to have dinner with would have been Yousuf Karsh (the most talented portrait photographer ever) and the truly amazing Helen Keller. My life's paths have been inspired by both of these individuals ...
Today (after many years of being away from it) I was back in the class room teaching ASL (American Sign Language) ... and it felt wonderful!
This is my version of the 1948 'Hands' by Yousuf Karsh and you guessed it - his hands belonged to Helen Keller.
Day 12 - Today was my daughter's first cupcake decorating class ... she was definitely pleased with her finished product.
Day 13 - It was a busy day with too few hours of daylight. If I had had more time or if it hadn't been so windy & cold outside - this shot may have been more interesting ...
Day 14 - That's my husband and our youngest during skating lessons this morning.

Project 2012 - Week 1
I loved working on my first Project 365 (A Photo A Day for a Full Year) and after taking a couple months off to get settled in our new home - I'm excited to have started Project 2012 (same thing just a new name). My goal for this project is to 'celebrate and embrace' our new home on Cape Cod. Only time will tell what you might see but I do hope you enjoy following my project as much as I love photographing the images. DAY 1 - What a wonderful way to start off the New Year. I spent the morning with new friends who are soon-to-be first time parents (they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the own little starfish soon), and my afternoon was a walk on the beach with my own starfish family.
DAY 2 - It was cold and I didn't want to spend too much time outside. So, in between my mountain of laundry that needed folding - I quickly ran outside looking for today's inspiration
DAY 3 - I decided to check out South Village Beach in Dennis, MA before the snow started to fall. (I'm glad I got the shot early because it's already snowing).
DAY 4 - LOL - our big snow storm here on Cape Cod!
DAY 5 - Today I stopped at Sand Pond in Harwich, MA. As I approached the water I saw what I thought was a huge duck (my 4 year old even thought it was a duck) ... instead this is what we found
DAY 6 - While out and about today this shell caught my attention. I'm sure that when this was 'whole' it was quite beautiful and at first I was sad to see it was broken but now looking at it ... I realize that it's still amazing
DAY 7 - Today it was a family walk at Bank Street Beach in Harwich Port, MA. As soon as I saw my 3 daughters walking up to the shore line ... I knew that I had my photo.
