The Wonderful "W" Family

While our friends were in town visiting we went a head and took some family photos. Which (and anyone with young children already know this) doesn't always go as planned --- never the less I think we got some nice photographs for them. I also had a little fun creating a few acrostic poems/collages from their children's preschool session a few days earlier.

Week 43 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 295 - Could it be true? My oldest daughter is finally starting to organize her own little world. Not only is she brushing her hair more and keeping her room clean ... but she's also helping out more around the house. I'm loving it!

Day 296 - These shirts were made in honor of Haeley McGuire by her younger sister. To show our love and support for the entire McGuire family - the neighborhood children wore them to school today.

Day 297 - Who doesn't love getting an unexpected package? Today my girls received these cute wooden toys from my dear Uncle T - he picked them up some place in Europe while he was doing a little sight seeing.

Day 298 - Just having fun playing around with my zoom lens!

Day 299 - My Girl Scouts don't know it yet but we're going to have a little water balloon fun at tonight's meeting.

Day 300 - A beautiful garden starts with just one little bloom.

Day 301 - It's official ... summer has begun.

Proof Sheets

Photographing a wedding is a huge task and right behind that (in my opinion) is photographing a preschool. Last month I drove up to Wilton, CT to photograph my mother-in-laws school - http://www.creativelearningchildren.org/. I photographed the staff , the students and I also had several siblings sessions. At the end of the day I was exhausted but it was so much fun and I look forward to making the trip again in the fall! My good friend's - The Waters Family - and the owner/director of Creative Learning Center - Judy Sims (my mother-in-law) have allowed me to share their images from that day.

Framed

Wow - this was a big job! The idea behind this soon-to-be on-line framing business is that college graduates can pick out matting & a frame to display their hard earned diploma's - all from the comfort of their homes. My part in this venture was to photograph over 200 different colored mats (the top photo is just a small sample of what I did) - six frames - and head & shoulders shots of the owners. Once their business is up and running -- I'll share their web address -- just in case you need any framing done! :)

Week 42 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 288 - I questioned my judgement on letting my Girl Scouts have a 'Brighton Breakfast' in honor of being at Brighton Woods Camp. At the end of the day I realized that having a 'Brighton Breakfast' every once in a while isn't a bad thing at all.

Day 289 - Our lives can change in an instant ... yesterday my community lost 3 young lives in a car accident. My neighbors/friends lost their beautiful daughter ... minutes before shooting this photo I was hugging this young lady who is grieving the loss of her older sister. Please send your love and prayers to my community ... we could sure use it right now.

Day 290 - It may be a while before the color returns to my neighborhood ...

Day 291- The Mass to celebrate the life of Haeley McGuire was beautiful and visiting with everyone afterwards was good for the soul. Today on Artesian Drive you could feel the love and support for the McGuire family ... I'm proud to be a part of such a great community.

Day 292 - With all the sadness lately ... seeing a double rainbow did bring a smile to my face.

Day 293 - I love my job! Today I got to photograph yet another new and precious life.

Day 294 - This weekend I'm helping to watch my friends two oldest children ... this morning I noticed this luggage photo tag on this suitcase (it's a photo that I took). I love seeing my photos displayed ... it makes me proud of what I do!

Sweet Little 'L' and Family ...

When a new life enters into a family - lives change for all family members. This sweet little "L" was surrounded by lots of family on the day of our session - proud mom & dad (of course) and very loving grandparents. My place in this world in not heroic by any means but I do feel a sense of pride knowing that I get to be a part of historical moments for the families I service.

Sweet Little "L" - part 2

I truly love my job and it doesn't get any better then working with a precious new life! I did maternity photographs for this little girls mom & dad and had the best time with them. So going to meet Little "L" for the first time felt like visiting with old friends.

Sweet Little "L" - part 1

Sweet little "L" ... this beautiful little lady was born about 2 weeks sooner then expected and this photo session happened on her original due date - ironic isn't it? She had her own ideas at how she wanted to be posed during the session - so we just went with it! Just what I like and love about an individual ...

Week 41 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 281 - Happy Mother's Day! I'm truly grateful for the 3 blessings in my life.

Day 282 - Ask and thou shall receive. My friend does commercial wall papering and asked if he ever had any 'scraps' that I could use for my backgrounds. Well, today I was given all of this with the promise of more --- I hit the mother load for sure. I'll be testing out my new props soon.

Day 283 - Who doesn't like playing in the water sprinklers? Watching my daughter and her little friend getting wet definitely made my day. Childhood is a precious gift.

Day 284 - Today we made the hard decisions to put our beloved Abby to 'sleep.' Since the kids have gone to bed I've been crying but I know in my heart that we made the right decision. I don't think that I'll look at the decal on the back of my van window the same again.

Day 285 - Just getting ready for our Girl Scout encampment this weekend ... our S.W.A.P.S. (Special Whatchamallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere) are ready to go.

Day 286 - My peonies are about to bloom ...

Day 287 - My Girl Scout troop enjoyed the 'bird man' during part of our encampment this weekend. All his winged creatures were amazing.

3 Months Old and Counting ...

You may recognize this little lad ... I photographed him when he was about a week old. His mom really wanted some 3 month old photos of him wearing the same outfit that this big brother wore over 7 years ago.

Week 40 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 274 - I came across these footprints this morning and was lucky enough to also capture the goose responsible for them.

Day 275 - I got one before the kids did.

Day 276 - If you didn't already know I'm not comfortable in front of the camera. But in honor of 'Mother's Day' - which is right around the corner - I thought it would be my gift to myself to have a photo of me with each of my daughters. So tonight here is me and my beloved Annabelle.

Day 277 - Me and my Olivia -- she tried to arrive into this world 8 weeks early but with lots of prayers and an excellent medical team she arrived healthy and only 4 weeks ahead of schedule.

Day 278 - Me and little Miss Natalie ... she's my pistol and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Day 279 - SMILE ...

Day 280 - A message in the sand from my 6 year old!

Annie

I attended our local high school play of 'Annie' and let me tell you what ... the students did a fantastic job! The set was amazing as well as the as all the costumes. I love the theatre and hoping that in the future at least one of daughters will get the acting bug ...
