Reflections on my Project 365

I thought I would take a few minutes and share a couple of my favorite photo's from  my recently completed Project 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 79
I love this photograph ... it is the first photo from my project that I thought was truly special.  Beside a little cropping when editing - I did nothing to this photo.   This will probably be one that I get framed one of these days.

  Day 221
I wanted to do something special for Ash Wednesday.  I had my oldest daughter  scoop up a pile of ashes from the fireplace and we headed outside.  What I didn't count on was the windbut it made my photo and I was happy that it was blowing that day.

  Day 223
I couldn't help but feel pride when I saw my oldest daughter playing around with my back up camera - it's one of my favorites!

Day 266
What a wonderful moment celebrating childhood.  I didn't have time to even think about what I was doing -  I just starting shooting off frames -- hoping that I would  captured what I was seeing.

Day 269
This is the last photo of our beloved Abby ... she was a part of our family for many, many years and she is deeply missed.

Day 338
This was the hardest photograph for me - technically speaking.  It was completely dark and  my camera  was set on a tripod.  The timer was set and I  had to light a sparkler.  Then I had to find the correct spot to stand in the dark and write out AZU  with the sparkler (it was only later on that  I realized that I could have written USA and just flipped my image in photoshop  which would have been a little easier).

Day 323
I saved my favorite photo's for last ... Father's Day 2011.  These are the 4 faces that I love most in this world!
I am proud of myself for completing this project  -  I didn't miss a day - not one.  I also thought I might cheat a little but I didn't - I truly took a photo a day.  I LOVED doing this project and next time around I'm expecting it to turn out ever better.   Project 2012 is coming soon ....

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 302 - This momma bird was doing her best to protect her precious eggs (you can see 3 of them under her). Her nest is in a busy parking lot which means I'll be making some calls tomorrow to hopeful help her find a new location for her soon-to-be.

Week 42 - Project 365

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 288 - I questioned my judgement on letting my Girl Scouts have a 'Brighton Breakfast' in honor of being at Brighton Woods Camp. At the end of the day I realized that having a 'Brighton Breakfast' every once in a while isn't a bad thing at all.

Day 289 - Our lives can change in an instant ... yesterday my community lost 3 young lives in a car accident. My neighbors/friends lost their beautiful daughter ... minutes before shooting this photo I was hugging this young lady who is grieving the loss of her older sister. Please send your love and prayers to my community ... we could sure use it right now.

Day 290 - It may be a while before the color returns to my neighborhood ...

Day 282 - Ask and thou shall receive. My friend does commercial wall papering and asked if he ever had any 'scraps' that I could use for my backgrounds. Well, today I was given all of this with the promise of more --- I hit the mother load for sure. I'll be testing out my new props soon.

Day 283 - Who doesn't like playing in the water sprinklers? Watching my daughter and her little friend getting wet definitely made my day. Childhood is a precious gift.

Day 284 - Today we made the hard decisions to put our beloved Abby to 'sleep.' Since the kids have gone to bed I've been crying but I know in my heart that we made the right decision. I don't think that I'll look at the decal on the back of my van window the same again.

Day 285 - Just getting ready for our Girl Scout encampment this weekend ... our S.W.A.P.S. (Special Whatchamallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere) are ready to go.

Day 275 - I got one before the kids did.

Day 276 - If you didn't already know I'm not comfortable in front of the camera. But in honor of 'Mother's Day' - which is right around the corner - I thought it would be my gift to myself to have a photo of me with each of my daughters. So tonight here is me and my beloved Annabelle.

Day 277 - Me and my Olivia -- she tried to arrive into this world 8 weeks early but with lots of prayers and an excellent medical team she arrived healthy and only 4 weeks ahead of schedule.

Day 278 - Me and little Miss Natalie ... she's my pistol and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Day 279 - SMILE ...

Day 280 - A message in the sand from my 6 year old!

PROJECT 365 - A PHOTO A DAY FOR A FULL YEAR

Day 267 - Happy Easter to all!

Day 268 - This beautiful babe is recovering from major facial surgery ... I did some 'before' photos of this lad and I am truly amazed at how fantastic (and handsome) he is.

Day 269 - This old gal has been a part of my family since the beginning and isn't doing well these days. I thought that she looked youthful with the afternoon sun on her back.

Day 270 - She's got her Daddy's eyes.

Day 271 - This little lady is a hard cookie to photograph - she doesn't like the camera at all! I've been playing around with different editing styles and I am not sure if I like this look or not.

Day 272 - I was glued to the TV most of the day watching the lovely Will and Kate ... it truly was a beautiful wedding.

Day 273 - The view from the top of Sugarloaf Mountain was truly amazing this afternoon.

Day 262 - I got caught in this afternoons rain storm and figured I would hang out in the car for a while - so while I was just sitting around I took this photo of my rain soaked window.

Day 263 - I spent most of the day working on proof sheets for the preschool shoot I had last week ... it was a big job but a lot of fun.

Day 264 - I snapped a couple of photos of this beautiful creature and let the kids toss it back into the ocean (sadly though - I think it was a lost cause).

Day 265 - This young Rhea stopped and posed for a photo today at the Salisbury Zoological Park.

Day 266 - I hope that years from now that I'll always remember days like this.

Day 259 - We were visiting the nature center this afternoon when we heard the tornado warnings - so we loaded back into the car to head home. Despite the rainy and dark skies ... I got a pretty cool reflection of a tree in the parking lot.

Week 35 - Project 365

Day 239 - Since we didn't get the forecasted snow ... we went out to enjoy the day. While crossing the street I thought "why not" and clicked off a frame.

Day 244 - My April Fools prank on my daughter's 3rd grade class (I do have a real treat for the kids after the joke is carried out).
