Rocky Gap
It's hard to believe -- but my oldest daughter turned 9 in August. She wanted to go camping for her birthday so we headed to Rocky Gap State Park in Maryland. In between the rain showers (more like heavy down pours) we were able to see all the beauties that we've come to love at Rocky Gap.

The "D" Family
When I first got back into photography in 2010 - my first 'official' photography session was with the beautiful "B" family in Virginia. Fast forward to August 2011 and as my family was preparing for our move up to Cape Cod ... I met another beautiful family. I'm sad to say that the "D" family was my last 'official' photography session in the DC area. As it turns out the "D" family contacted me because they had seen my photo session with their friends the "B" family. At any rate -- this was a wonderful family to work with and I hope that they enjoy their own photos as much as they enjoyed their friend's!

Miss "M"
Sweet little "M" ... what a little beauty! Mom and Dad wanted some pictures of her while she was still little - she wasn't quite a newborn (2-3 weeks old) but not yet 3 months old. She has her mom's beautiful golden brown hair and big blue eyes. The family pictures will be posted tomorrow ... it doesn't get any better then working with first time parents.

The Beach House
I met Ellen over 3 years ago when we decided to start a Girl Scout Troop together. At the time we were complete strangers but after working together as leaders for 3 years - I feel that I can stop saying my co-leader but rather my friend. We moved to Cape Cod at the end of August and her family happen to have vacation plans at the end of September - just a few miles away from our new home. So, of course we made plans to see each - her family was staying at the Sea Shell Motel in Dennisport, MA - which is not only water front but it's also quaint and charming. The wine - The Beach House - was a gift from Ellen. Now, I normally don't photograph my wine bottles but I loved the title and thought why not. As it turns out - I loved this wine! And since it's my new favorite I thought I would share it with you ... now I've got to figure out where I can buy it. :)

A Wedding in August
In August - I had the privilege of photographing my first same-sex wedding. I wasn't sure what to expect but I liked the couple instantly and knew I wanted to be part of their celebration. The ceremony and reception took place at the trendy Hotel Palamor in Washington, DC. The evening was filled with good food, music and most importantly love between two adults who are committed to each other.

National Postal Museum
My family is going to miss all the wonderful 'free' places to visit in our Nation's Capitol. The National Postal Museum is definitely a place to visit while in DC --- whether by plane, train or automobile (and don't forget by pony) the postal service has always found a way to keep us connected.

This and That
The other day - someone asked me why I post photos on my blog ... photos that are obviously not client related. Well - it's simple - I love taking photos and sharing them with you! Beauty is everywhere ... not just in the wonderful families I meet or events I get to be a part of.
At any rate ... here are a few misc. photos from my trip to Connecticut this summer. :)
